Connie F. Ogden, Arkansas Perfect getaway • 5 of 5
My review is a little delayed but I still wanted to get it in. From the moment we pulled in the driveway we were in awe of this cabin. It is next to impossible to please 3 adult children, my husband and myself all with the same things (the grandson is still easy to please), but this cabin did it, everyone had a blast. It was very relaxing, we spent most of our time on the screened in porch overlooking the valley and playing cards. The welcome chalk board and all the little notes on how to work things and where to find things made us feel more like guests than renters. The cabin is well stocked, if you forgot to bring something it is quite possibly there. There are games and movies in the den, and a fire pit with plenty of chairs just a short walk down the trail. This was our anniversary weekend we wanted to spend with our kids. We went over to Mt. Nebo where we had got married to take family pictures. We will most likely stay again in the future and have already recommended this cabin to friends. The Allens are great hosts. Thank you again for such a wonderful weekend get away for our family. • Submitted: Jan 18, 2017 • Stayed: July 2016 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

David O. Allen's Country Cabin on top of Petit Jean Mountain • 5 of 5
For the family that wants a close, but quiet getaway. A place where you can connect with nature. With very great host. Then this is the spot. Our family enjoyed it very much as we went to the Petit Jean Mountain car show and swap meet. Close to the famous car museum, Mather Lodge with 5 star cooking at a terrific price. Out of this world scenic views. We would definitely recommend this cabin for your family getaway. But as a hint, be sure to reserve early so you don't lose out on the dream of your life. • Submitted: Sep 25, 2016 • Stayed: September 2016 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Based on the photos posted online, our expectations for the cabin were quite high. The cabin (house) and setting far exceeded our expectations. The cabin was comfortable and the view from the back of the house overlooking the valley for miles was extraordinary. The notes on how to operate the technology in the home were quite helpful. The cabin was clean and had everything we could possibly need. We were within minutes of the park and meals at the lodge. Our two 16-year-old grandsons rated the cabin as "COOL!" and "NEAT!" We had quick responses to our contacts with the owners. • Submitted: Jul 28, 2016 • Stayed: July 2016 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Allens Cabin was the perfect getaway for us and another couple. It was clean, roomy, private, well equipped and has a great view of the Arkansas River Valley. It is also very conveniently located to park attractions. We have stayed many times at the nice State Park Cabins but Allens Cabin was a real treat and will be our first choice when we return. The Allens' Cabin is the perfect place for spending quality time with loved ones and with nature. The cabin itself is perfectly designed for both relaxing and exploring. The double storied decks extend gorgeous views over the Arkansas river valley and in combination with the beautiful landscaping (including a rock waterfall and stone fire circle!) they facilitate a harmony with the outdoors even in winter. Inside, the cabin is full of exciting amenities such as a gas fireplace, a fully stocked kitchen, fast internet, and great entertainment features. The bedrooms are large and comfortable and the bathrooms are luxurious. Everything is in perfect condition and the Allens have lots of information and insight into the area. • Submitted: Dec 30, 2015 • Stayed: December 2015 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Emily T. Beautiful cabin on Petit Jean Mountain • 5 of 5
Allens' Cabin turned out to be just perfect for our Thanksgiving vacation. The cabin itself is extremely clean, well furnished, comfortable, and homey. The view is fantastic, overlooking the Arkansas river, with the farmland below. The kids loved running around outside, and especially enjoyed the fire pit, which we used to make s'mores! We also loved that the cabin is so close to Petit Jean Mountain State Park . We were able to hike and walk on the trails every day, and couldn't get over the beautiful scenery, especially Cedar Falls. We would definitely stay there again. We highly recommend it. • Submitted: Dec 30, 2015 • Stayed: November 2015 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

S C. Stuttgart, AR Perfect hideaway for your getaway! • 5 of 5 This 2-story cabin was the PERFECT place for our group of six girlfriends to get together! Both the screened in porch off the 1st floor and the covered deck off the 2nd floor had amazing views, perfect for star gazing! The cabin has a great layout and was VERY CLEAN!! The 2 full bathrooms were spacious and the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. Loved the old-fashioned stove and Coca-cola decor! The cabin is secluded enough that when we were all laughing at 2am, we didn't have to worry about disturbing our neighbors, but yet it was just a very short drive to the Petit Jean trails, overlooks, and Mathers Lodge. Each of us were so pleased overall with our stay that we want to make this destination a yearly weekend getaway! • Submitted: Aug 20, 2015 • Stayed: August 2015 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Kim S. Great place to stay! • 5 of 5
Just spent the most wonderful weekend with some old friends from high school at the cabin. There were six of us and it was very comfortable. The decks were awesome with a beautiful view. The cabin is somewhat isolated so the noise level we were generating at 2am was not disturbing for anyone else. Beds were comfortable. Both bathrooms are large enough to accomodate a large group. Furnishings are comfortable and in good condition and the cabin was SUPER CLEAN. Large TV and DVD player in the den. Cabin also has WIFI. Kitchen is well stocked if you want to cook, including lots of staples that you don't find in most rental properties (tea, coffee, creamer, sugar, s&p, trash bags, etc.) • Submitted: Aug 17, 2015 • Stayed: August 2015 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

We had an excellent experience with this rental. Everything was as they described and then some. So close to all the hiking trails at petit Jean state park, which was the reason for our visit. The fire pit area outside is so nice. And the choice of porches, which all have GREAT views, was a perfect way to end the day. The Allen cabin was the perfect venue for spending quality time with family in a beautiful spot. The cabin is situated right on the north brow of Petit Jean Mountain with breathtaking views at every time of day. It is spacious and cozy at the same time, comfortably furnished, and the adorable kitchen is well prepared for making and serving meals. Kelly C. One of the best views in Arkansas! • 5 of 5
My girlfriends and I met at the cabin for a weekend getaway. As we drove through the gate (which can be closed for privacy concerns) the bird's eye view beyond the cabin revealed the Arkansas River in the Valley below. There are two porches, the bottom level is screened, and the upper deck open and allowing fantastic sunrise views. I'm certain the sunsets are just as magnificent. I can not impress enough how spectacular the view is from this vantage point. You won't want to leave! The grounds are well-kept with flower beds and small trails that take you to a water feature and fire pit. As a birder, the water feature is visible from the upper decks, and I'm certain has many visitors during migration and summer. Forget your binoculars? The owners have you covered. You will want to live and breath on those decks. Did I mention the fantastic views? Yes? The cabin is well cared for, decorated with the naturalist in mind and pleasing in every way. The only downside, and this isn't a big deal, is the stairs leading to the upper level and bedrooms. But not to worry, there's a sleeper sofa downstairs, as well as a bathroom, for those of you unable to climb those stairs. As to the upper bedrooms, we slept like royalty in comfort from our castle on the mountaintop. The owners have strategically placed blankets and pillows throughout the cabin so you can be nice and cozy during the cooler temperatures. The kitchen is well-stocked. In fact, none of us have ever seen one so well supplied! We didn't have to go to town for anything! How wonderful!!! We spent most of our time playing music in the den by the gas fireplace, and as the evening begin to fade, we retreated to the living room to watch a couple of movies. There's plenty of room to spread out, if you need your own space, but to me, the cabin is more about promoting interaction with each other. We were so happy here! As to the steps, this would not prevent me from returning, and I'm not complaining at all. None of us girls are big into sports, we're in our 50s and we managed just fine. Totally loved this place and would recommend it to anyone that wants to stay at Petit Jean and prefers privacy from others. As much as I love the state park, it is SO nice to wake up at this private cabin, step outside with a cup of coffee, wearing a bathrobe and listen to the birds in solitude. We will definitely be back!!! • Submitted: Dec 3, 2014 • Stayed: November 2014 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Sandy Blockton, IA Sisters Retreat • 5 of 5
We enjoyed our stay at Allen's Cabin. The view was wonderful. Two of the mornings when we looked at the view all we could see was some big fluffy clouds. We actually caught the sunrise one morning it was very beautiful. We took lots and lots of pictures. We saw some of the sites in Petit Jean State Park and also did some hiking. The cabin was very clean and well stocked. We loved the kitchen, while being small it still had everything we could possibly need for fixing our meals. They even had food items stocked if we needed them. The stove looked like an old antique stove. We each had our own beds to sleep in. I slept in the lower bunk, I don't know if it was just me or not but it seemed to slope to the front of the bed which made me feel like I was sliding forward...the bed was still comfortable and I slept like a baby. It brought back childhood memories sharing bedrooms with a sister or two. Very enjoyable. There was always something to do. I would really love to see the flower gardens in the spring or early summer to see the flowers in bloom. I can only imagine how beautiful they would be while swinging on the two rope swings smelling the floral fragrances. We started discussing the possibility of staying again for another one of our yearly Sisters Retreats. I would recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a nice peaceful place to stay. • Submitted: Oct 28, 2014 • Stayed: October 2014 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway
Owner's Response: It is so special when sibling and families take time out of everyday routine to spend time together. We are glad when our cabin be that place. We do our best to use feedback and ideas from others to keep making Allens' cabin better and better.

We loved the cabin. This was a great place to unwind, sit on the porches to enjoy the spectacular views, and just relax. The cabin is cozy and provided a restful, tranquil retreat. The clouds on most mornings made us feel on top of the world. We caught the sunrise one morning....awesome! We loved being on Petit Jean Mountain, taking some of the trails, spending time out in the garden, and sometimes just doing nothing but sitting on the porch enjoying the views. • Submitted: Oct 26, 2014 • Stayed: October 2014 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway Did you find this review helpful? 0Yes 0No Anonymous Baton Rouge, LA Just right • 5 of 5 Allen's Cabin was just right for everything we did in the Petit Jean area. We loved reading on the screened porches. It was fun to prepare and serve meals in the red and white kitchen. Who doesn't like to cook in new red pans? Proximity to the park gave easy access to hiking trails. The guest comments sent us on a successful search for a secret room. Clean, quiet, well appointed, and a fire pit to try on our next visit. Carla F. A little piece of heaven - cabin on the mountain • 5 of 5
Me and some of my family decided to take a few days & visit Arkansas. I searched VRBO's & came across this awesome cabin. Upon arrival, we were not disappointed and it all got better from that point. The cabin is spacious and the owners have done well in making one feel at home. From extra pillows, blankets, towels, a stocked kitchen, lap throws in the living room, to board games & movies. I know there are neighbors, but while we stayed at the cabin, we felt we had the mountain to ourselves. The outside living areas are wonderful. There are 4 porches (1 of which is completely screened in - awesome! We enjoyed visiting Morrilton's antique auto museum & petit jean state park is a must see. The owners are completing a beautiful fire pit area - although not complete at our visit - we took advantage of it both nights. They owners respond to emails & calls & get high ratings from our group. Vicki H. NW Arkansas Excellent Cabin- Highly recommend! • 5 of 5
Our family has stayed in many vacation homes over the years so let me try to answer a few questions for you if you are considering this vacation rental cabin. Was the cabin as pictured and described? Well, honestly, no....it was BETTER! And folks, that rarely happens. It was a beautiful cabin, inside and out. And the view just soothes the soul. Was the cabin clean? Absolutely, and I'm pretty picky. It was spotless. Was it comfortable? Yes, it felt like home. The beds were comfortable. And my kids wanted to stay forever. Was it quiet? Yes. Except for the days we were there and my small herd of children were outside playing, having the time of their lives...and being quite loud. Were the owners easy to work with? They were top-notch- friendly, quick to respond to emails, available by phone if needed. (and we even had the privilege of meeting them briefly when we arrived as they were finishing up some work there.) Should you book this cabin? Yes, but please not when we are wanting to come back. : ) • Submitted: Sep 14, 2014 • Stayed: September 2014 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

This is our second time to this house. We love the house, location, and view. The house is very comfortable and very well stocked with extras left in the cabinets. It feels like you are staying in some ones home. It's nice to know that there is some spices, sugar, oil, etc... just in case you forget something. Very close to Petit Jean State Park, a great park to go hiking in. Although with the view, satellite tv, dvds, and wifi you really never need to leave. There is only one small country store close so come prepared. The State park has a restaurant, if you don't feel like cooking. Above and beyond my expectations the pictures does not do it justice. One of the cleanest, best stocked, comfortable, peaceful places I have ever stayed !! The screened in back porch was so inviting and the view was beautiful, a perfect place to have coffee in the mornings and to sit and visit with family in the afternoon into the night . We "My 89 yr. old Mom and siblings" where there for a family reunion "at the Tanyard springs Convention Center" and the cabin was so nice to come back to and visit with family member from out of state. The yard, flowers and hummingbirds where an added attraction. I've stayed in a lot of cabins in and around Petit Jean National Park, and I can confidently say that this is one of the best cabin experiences yet. We stayed at Allen's Cabin for our Spring Break trip. We found it to be everything it is described to be and more. It is convenient to Petit Jean State Park, yet private. As a group of women, we felt very safe there. The view was wonderful, the interior calm and inviting. The new gas burning log stove was a special treat. Truly all you will need is your food. The living area itself is a brilliant layout of private space but ideal for group visiting or eating as well. Multiple porch-decks cause a sensation that you are truly on top of the world ! Even on a cozy, rainy day, the twilight show was majestic. A huge rainbow over the rising mist from the river gave the whole valley a surreal effect. Maybe that's the best summary for the whole weekend.... like being in a whole different world!! Ed,Jenni and family • Submitted: Jan 12, 2014 • Stayed: December 2013 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

We just returned from a weekend at Allen's Cabin and it was great. It was perfect for our needs and located on Petit Jean Mountain overlooking the Arkansas River. This provided an absolutely beautiful view of the river and valley below. We slept 4 comfortably but it could accommodate 8 easily. It was easy to find because of the accurate directions from the Allen's. The cabin is clean and comfortable and we found everything like the Allen's outlined. There are 3 really good places to eat but the kitchen is well equipped for preparing meals. The beds are very comfortable. We had a blast. Thank you Allen's for sharing your cabin with us. This was a beautiful little cabin and the perfect place to unwind, recharge, and spend time with the kids. The owners were extremely helpful and attentive to details (like child proofing before we arrived--thanks!!!). The cabin is in such a beautiful setting and Petit Jean State Park is my favorite hiking place for young children. Our kids said it best when they exclaimed "Best day EVER" each and every day we were there....and the adults agreed. An absolutely blessed time in a beautiful setting. • Submitted: Oct 9, 2013 • Stayed: October 2013 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

My family and I loved Allen's cabin! There were many thoughtful amenities provided by the Allens. From the welcome written on the chalkboard, the abundance of sheets and towels, the detergents provided for the washer and dishwasher, games, books, and movies all worked together to make our stay enjoyable. My personal favorite was the jar of cherries we found in the refrigerator - cherry Dr Peppers every night!! I'm quite sure the Allens have replaced that jar since we ate most of them. My goal over the next few years is to experience Allens Cabin in each of the four seasons. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation, I would highly recommend Allen's Cabin. • Submitted: Aug 25, 2013 • Stayed: July 2013 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway
Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice comments! Our goal is for all our guests to want to come back. We try to listen to our guests advice, so we will definitely replace those cherries for all to enjoy! As a challenge next time, please feel free to tie knots in the cherry stems with your tongue.

My husband and I met our college age kid and his friends for a long weekend over the MLK holiday this past January. The place was perfect! Lots of room for everyone; it was well-appointed and had everything we needed to cook and lounge and the views were fantastic. If you want to enjoy the mountain without all people at the State Park, this place is for you! Lots of towels and linens plus wifi and a television set up in the side room. Perfect for those who don't want to be bothered by television. Or it is there for those that do. Beds are comfy as well. Good owners. Close if you need them but they won't bug you unless you do. I had been to the cabin several time with my husband and have always enjoyed it. It was fun to hear the exclamations of delight as my friends discovered all the cabin has to offer. My family needed a few days of rest and relaxation and Allens' Cabin turned out to be the perfect spot for us. It is VERY well maintained and was spotless when we arrived. I'm very picky about cleanliness for my kids and this cabin more than passed inspection. The kitchen had everything we needed, there was a nice selection of movies, and a top of the line television -- but we didn't need any of that with the amazing views out the windows, porches and balcony. My daughters especially loved the garden with the 2 swings hung from tree branches. They played and ran and squealed so much it is a good thing there are no close neighbors to hear! I hope we get a chance to go back soon! • Submitted: Apr 5, 2012 • Stayed: March 2012 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway
Owner's Response: Thank you! It is a pleasure to share this magical place with you. The perennial garden was established when the cabin was first built. We are enjoying the process of reclaiming it. We are including native flowering food plants for the many butterfies and birds in the area. The hooks for the swings were still there, we just had to get new rope and make the seats.

My husband and I needed a retreat after burying my mother and taking care of her house. We were seeking privacy, peace, serenity...and found all three in this wonderful cabin.. Vista is indescribably beautiful. Fall...cooler weather...the breeze in the dry leaves...a bench swing on the screened porch...comfy...cozy...delightful. The cabin is so nice you almost don't want to leave...but I understand there are hiking paths nearby and the state park is within driving distance. Would recommend this cabin for adult retreat...male or female...for family reunions. Must say that the cabin sits on a bluff...meaning you teens might be challenged to do some mountain climbing (smile). Would use caution with smaller children. But this is a perfect place to withdraw from society and re-center and enjoying the blessings of God's creation!...Oh, yes...one other thing...romantic getaway??? This is definitely the place. • Submitted: Sep 21, 2011 • Stayed: September 2011 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

My husband and brother and sister in law enjoyed a couple of days at the cabin. When looking for a place to stay and reviewing possibilities the description of a place and pictures are helpful. The description and pictures were accurate and reflected the appearance. Actually the pictures did not do it justice. It was well maintained and clean. What a great spot overlooking the Arkansas River and the farmland with cattle. We spent a good part of our time sitting out on the deck enjoying the view. We saw a couple of barges go down the river and a rain cloud came in around the mountain and that was interesting to see. The accomdations were great. We had everything we needed. All we had to do was bring some food. The guys enjoyed the television and grilling a couple of meals. We gals enjoyed the closeness to the Petit Jean Park and walking on some of the trails. My husband and I stayed at Allen's cabin last weekend. It was our second visit and we have a third already booked. Even though it was early August and extremely hot, we were able to catch nice breezes on the screened porch. It was the first time in several weeks that we could enjoy being outside since this summer has been dreadfully hot. We recommend Allen's to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and roomy place to relax and enjoy peace and quiet. Plus, they've stocked the cabin with family friendly books, magazines, DVD's and games so there is something for everyone. There's even a pair of binoculars available to observe any wildlife that may come into view. • Submitted: Aug 12, 2011 • Stayed: August 2011 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

The cabin was wonderful, very quaint and private. It was very clean and accommodating. We felt at home right away. It has old time charm but yet has the modern conveniences we have all come to enjoy. Both bedrooms are upstairs so if you have knee problems, that might be inconvenient for someone. The farmland view is beautiful just like the others have said. We enjoyed the cabin immensely which provided the rest and relaxation that my husband and I both needed. The area is beautiful and is a peaceful and wonderful place to be when you are looking to be away from the busyness of life. Huelle Russellville Wow...what can I say? • 5 of 5
I had the great fortune to stay at the Allens' Cabin. This cabin has all the comforts of home - two full baths, Internet, cable (although with all the natural attractions, watching tv was the last thing on my mind) and a kitchen area stocked with everything needed for cooking (except food - bring your own). The things this cabin has that home does not offer is two great decks in which to sit and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Arkansas River in the valley below, the gentle mooing of the livestock in the valley, the sights and sounds of birds and squirrels, and fresh country air. The evening view is great too, seeing the lights from the farms and towns below and the stars above. The upstairs bath is large and family friendly. There is a spot in or around this cabin for everyone....the movie watcher, the hiker, the reader, the cook, the relaxer. My only suggestion to anyone staying here...turn your cell phone off and truly appreciate all of Petit Jean Mt.!! • Submitted: Jul 8, 2011 • Stayed: April 2011 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Anita M. Broken Arrow, Oklahoma You MUST see this view, at least once! • 5 of 5
We rented this cabin midway through a 10 day popup camper adventure in Arkansas. We stayed for Father's Day weekend, and it was so nice that we really didn't ever want to leave to go to Petit Jean State Park (which we do recommend highly). We have stayed at other VRBO properties in various states, and lots of times we have either not had internet or had poor cell phone reception or the house was old and ill equipped or there just wasn't anything to do in the area. Well, this one had everything we could ask for: great wifi, great cell phone reception, new cabin (10 or 12 years old actually, but it appears brand new inside); very clean; a washer and dryer AND dishwasher. A woodburning stove. Cable too, but we didn't even try that since the movie collection was just our style. But it's the view that really got us. We hadn't really seen a view like this anywhere else, except from an airplane. You can see for 20 miles, and you will see the TOPS of the birds as they fly by. I would love to see a rain or snow storm from here! The back porches are incredible; one of us were always on them. While on this trip, my son Robert found his 200th geocache at the state park. The state park was great in that it had long hiking trips but also several hikes you can explore just 1/4 mile from where you park. It also had overlooks that you drive right up too. Although the overlooks had breathtaking views, we felt that the view from our cabin was just as good if not better! Also this cabin is very easily reached from the highway. I can't think of one reason that you will not love this place as much as we did. It worked very well for our family of four, but it would be a very fun place for a girls weekend as well. Thanks so much for a very fun and relaxing weekend that we will remember for a long, long time. • Submitted: Jul 6, 2011 • Stayed: June 2011 • Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Anonymous La Marque 5th Annual Texas Grandmothers & Granddaughters Trip 1. 5 of 5
Every year, my best friend and I take our granddaughters, now ages 10 and 12, on a "mystery trip", where they do not know where they are going, or what we are doing each day. This year celebrated our fifth year and we decided to take them out of state for the first time, to beautiful Arkansas. We spent three nights at Allen's Cabin (June 7-10, 2011) and all of us just fell in LOVE with the house! From the moment we drove through the gate, we began ooohing and aaahing over everything about the house and the surrounding property. When we unlocked the front door, the girls both squealed "AWESOME!" The pictures really do not do it justice nor capture the "personality" of the house....it is adorable and decorated so cute....is very roomy and super clean and has everything that you need, except food!! Kathy and Ray are exceptional people....we corresponded by email on numerous occasions and they gave such helpful advice on what to do in the area. Kathy took the time to plan a "scavenger hunt" for the girls that led to a "secret room" in the house....and inside was a bag of goodies for them! Too sweet and so kind!! Petit Jean State Park is fabulous....and we also hiked to the waterfall, which was so beautiful and peaceful...if these two 60-year old grandmas can make it, so can you!! Our girls were really proud of us, I think!! We had so much fun cooking dinner together at night in the "old timey" looking (but modern) kitchen, playing lots of games at the dining room table, watching old classic movies in the "media room", and just sitting on the porch swings, watching for fireflies, listening to the cattle across the river or staring at the stars. I can't begin to sing the praises of this place highly enough....you must visit it yourself to understand the peace and tranquility that exists here. Thank you SO MUCH, Kathy and Ray, for allowing us to stay and share in your treasured mountain home....and thank you for all the help and information you provided us....I feel like we have made two new life-long friends! We WILL be back at some point in the future!! 1. Submitted: Jun 13, 2011 2. Stayed: June 2011 3. Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Honeymooners "to the moon alice!" Conway via New Mexico and Indiana (home states) My 3 day stay 1. 5 of 5
To all fellow travelers and vactioners I must say this cabin is one of the best kept secrets on Petit Jean Mountain. I have spent my time traveling and have my share of stops on Petit Jean. I have stayed in other cabins on the mountain. Again I must say it is indeed the best kept secret on the mountain. First the pictures just do not do justice to either the cabin nor the view. You must see it for yourself. Trust a man who is very particular about things. It is not often one stays at a location and it be an experience. Usually your experience comes from the events you plan in such places as Petit Jean. I would challenge any who stays at "Allens Cabin" to disagree. For those of you considering a place on petit jean I would say to you, I have stayed most places on this mountain during my many trips and none compare to this quite haven at the edge of the mountain. My wife and I planned several events on Petit Jean for this trip. However, we only did a few of them. The cabin captured us in a way that we simply did not want to leave it. We had so much fun with the different games and entertainment the cabin comes equipped with. I have raved to my family and friends for weeks now about our time in now what we lovingly call "The quiet haven on the side of the mountain"...... 1. Submitted: May 25, 2011 2. Stayed: May 2011 3. Kelly Russellville, AR Breathtaking!  5 of 5
Just returned from a weekend at the Allens' Cabin. What a great place to stay! The cabin is very cozy and gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling. The scenery is beautiful and peaceful. I loved getting up in the morning and drinking my coffee on the back porch in the swing and looking at the awsome view. How relaxing! Once we got up and moving we took a hike on several of Petite Jean trails, which included one that takes you down to a beautiful waterfall. The cabin is clean, well built and completely furnished with everything you will need to enjoy a wonderful geteway. It is a home away from home! I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone. Kathy and Ray are wonderful people and will assist you in making sure you have a fantastic experience! 1. Submitted: Apr 10, 2011 2. Stayed: April 2011 3. Source: VRBO, from HomeAway

Jason and Debbie Pottsville, AR Very impressed with the property - breathtaking views!!!!!!!   5 of 5
My wife and I stayed at this property in January and both of us were very pleased with the entire experience. The cabin is very clean and modern on the inside - well furnished with everything we needed. The 1st floor deck is screened so I imagine in the warmer parts of the year you could do some outdoor dining without any problems. There are ceiling fans everywhere - including the decks. As much as we adored the cabin, it's the views from the decks that sets this vacation property apart from most others. As this is the north-east end of Petit Jean mountain, you have a clear view of the s-curve of the Arkansas River just above Murray Dam, as well as farmland, cattle fields, and other mountains in the distance. We didn't get up early enough to see the sunrise, but we plan to return soon and make that happen. A real treat would be to watch a thunderstorm come through the valley below. We've known Ray & Kathy for years and can vouch for their good character and willingness to go the extra mile to make your stay at this cabin an amazing experience. I'd highly recommend this cabin for couples on honeymoon or anniversary as it is romantic and private. It's also a good stay for families as the State Park is close and there's plenty of room inside and out. The upstairs bedrooms each have 3 french doors full of glass that face the spectacular views of the valley. We grilled steaks outside on the front porch and built a fire in the stove after dinner. It was easy to stay warm inside in January as the cabin seems well insulated. There are two bathrooms - one upstairs, one downstairs - which were very clean and functional. We loved the clawfoot bathtub in the lower bathroom. We plan to come back again for an extended stay and take advantage of all the extras - indoors for games, DVDs, books - all furnished, or outdoors for hiking, cookouts, relaxing - maybe even a nap in the hammock. Two thumbs way up for Allen's Cabin!!!!!!!! 1. Submitted: Jan 23, 2011 2. Stayed: January 2011 3. Source: VRBO, from HomeAway
